Supporting the Ethiopian electoral process in cooperation with the EU

The project includes support to the National Electoral Board of Ethiopia (NEBE). The aim of the project is to contribute to the effective preparation and implementation of the 2020 national parliamentary elections and to a constructive follow-up in the 2020-2025 election cycle. Through training measures and direct support in the areas of leadership & management, operations & logistics as well as in management and communication with key external stakeholders, the National Electoral Board (NEBE) is to be strengthened institutionally in order to ensure effective management of the 2020 elections and the subsequent period. The internationally experienced NGO European Center for Electoral Support, which has already managed election support in over 40 countries, will be commissioned directly by the EU to carry out the measures. The direct monitoring of the project implementation will be carried out by the EU, which will co-finance these measures with EUR 7 million and at the same time act as the recipient of the FC funds.
