For these reasons, the Rwandan authorities would like to see a new facility with greater accommodation capacity, modern technical facilities and training resources that are not yet available outside Kigali or Huye.To this end, and with the support of French technical expertise, a complete reconstruction project has been set up to double the hospital's accommodation and treatment capacity. The first phase, which is the subject of the present financing, aims tosupport the construction of 550 beds, 8 operating theatres and a simple radiology platform. The aim now is to complete the construction of the maternity unit, which now accounts for 50% of the hospital's activity.
