Description
Description | The aim of the regional program is to contribute to ensuring an efficient and environmentally friendly energy supply in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia. The following projects have been funded under the program so far: 1. Investments to increase energy efficiency in Prizren The city of Prizren is currently supplied with water by the Hidroregjioni Jugor (HRJ) regional waterworks, 60% gravitational and 40% pumping stations. The project will increase the proportion of gravitational supply, thus saving energy and costs. In addition, the planned measures should significantly improve supply security. The project is being financed with an FC grant of EUR 2.5 million. 2. Energy efficiency of public buildings at the municipal level As part of the regional program, an energy efficiency project is being funded with a grant of EUR 2.5 million. Public buildings in four Kosovar cities are to be renovated to make them more energy efficient. The measures are intended to improve learning conditions and achieve energy savings of at least 20% on average. The project is co-financed by a low-interest loan and a grant from the Western Balkan Investment Framework (WBIF). 3. Capacity auction software for the South East Europe Coordinated Auction Office (SEE CAO) The Coordinated Auction Office in South East Europe (SEE CAO) is a joint venture of eight state transmission system operators from Southeast Europe. In order to promote the development of national and regional electricity markets, the capacity auction software of the SEE CAO is to be improved (cost: EUR 400,000). The support will enable an EU regulation on the auctioning of transmission capacities adopted in 2016 to be implemented on the IT side. |
