Description | In July 2012, United Water signed an agreement with the Suqian Municipal Government to build and operate the Gengche Wastewater Treatment Platn in Suqian City, Jiangsu province. The plant had a design capacity of 49,000 tons per day and the first phase would have 25,000 tons per day. The total investment was US$ 9.68 million (RMB 60 million). United Water would operate the plant for 25 years when construction was finished. According to official news, substantial civil works of the plant was finished in March 2013. How United Water was selected for the BOT agreement was not reported, although given its influence in Suqian City, it was very possible that the agreement was granted via direct negotiation. The agreement was performed by Suqian Yinkong Water Supply Company Limited, a subsidiary of United Water in the Suqian City. |
