Description | This 20 MW (4x5), diesel-fired power project reached financial closure in August 2000 at a cost of US$142.5 million. Sponsors are Suryachakra Power Corporation, Caterpillar Power Venture, Dr. Manepalli & Associates, and BSES Ltd. Electricity sales will be made to the Andaman & Nicobar administration. The PPA was signed in 1997 at an undisclosed rate. Srei International Finance will provide approximately $4 million out of the total $9 million debt component, with the State Bank of India (SBI) providing the remaining $5 million. The Manepallis will hold 51% of the equity. Caterpillar and BSES will hold the remaining equity portion at 39% and 10%, respectively. |
