Description

Description

The Sustainable and Inclusive Energy Program (SIEP) sector program aims to support the Indonesian government in structurally improving the regulatory framework of the energy sector. This is intended to contribute to (i) the financial sustainability and performance of the energy sector, (ii) increase private sector participation and (iii) promote the expansion of renewable energies. To this end, reform loans from ADB, AFD, the Korean EXIM Bank and - as part of financial cooperation - KfW are to be made available as part of a reform program. The implementation of SIEP III is linked to the implementation of a large number of individual reforms. In concrete terms, SIEP III focuses on three reform priorities in continuation of the sub-programs/phases I and II successfully implemented in 2015 and 2017 (i) improving the governance of the energy sector; (ii) promoting private sector participation, especially in renewable energies; and (iii) increasing access to renewable energies and energy efficiency.
