Description
Description | The Sustainable Energy & Materials, Energy Policy, Climate Change, Energy Economics and Environment (SMECC2E) mobility project is a cross regional Intra-Africa Mobility project that seeks to enhance the economic, social, and human development of Africa by improving the skills and competences of MSc and PhD students, trainees and University staff (Academic, Technical and Administrative) in Clean Energy Transition and Climate Change related areas, through learning mobility opportunities across the African continent. The six thematic areas of focus of SMECC2E are: Sustainable Energy system development, Sustainable Materials, Energy Policy, Climate Change studies (mitigation and adaptation), Energy Economics & Energy financing, and Environment. The specific objectives of SMECC2E in the above-mentioned thematic areas are to: 1. Increase Africa’s human resources by promoting inclusive learning mobility opportunities with a focus on Clean Energy Transition and Climate Change. 2. Strengthen the relevant academic programme of participating African Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs), and 3. Increase the employability of higher education students and trainees, by reinforcing collaboration between HEIs and businesses in Africa, in the Clean Energy Transition and Climate Change sector. 4. Create space for professional exchanges, mentorship, knowledge sharing and dissemination of good practices in climate and energy studies or research. Six (6) mobility types/schemes to be implemented in SMECC2E project. SMECC2E would be jointly implemented by a consortium of Six Partner African Universities and the University of West Attica from Greece. The African Universities are the University of Nigeria, University of Cape Coast, the University of Sierra Leone, Moi University, University of Rwanda and Lupane State University. |
