Description | The Sustainable Energy Financing Project aims to significantly increase the adoption and use of renewable energy technologies in participating Pacific Island states through a package of incentives to encourage local financial institutions to participate in sustainable energy finance in support of equipment purchase. In addition, the global environment objective is to contribute to mitigating climate change through the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in line with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. The project has four components: 1. Risk Sharing Fund and Renewable Energy Investments which will be used to provide innovative financing support to facilitate the flow of finance from local financial institutions to sustainable energy and energy efficiency investments. 2. Technical Assistance, Market Surveys and Communications for technical assistance to financial institutions, technical assistance for micro and small enterprises, developing and updating a project catalogue, participant training and communications, and technical assistance for utilities and studies. 3. Participant Monitoring. 4. Management & Evaluation. |
