Description

The development objective of the Sustainable Financing for Biodiversity Conservation and Natural Resources Management Project for Bhutan is to improve the operational effectiveness and institutional sustainability of the Bhutan Trust Fund for Environmental Conservation (BTFEC). There are three components to the project. The first component of the project is enhancing the operational effectiveness and sustainability of BTFEC. The second component of the project is improving conservation management of the High Altitude Northern Areas (HANAS) landscape in Bhutan (including protected areas and associated methods, forests and agricultural systems). The third component of the project is capacity building for mainstreaming of conservation and sustainable forest and natural resource management approaches in national policies, strategies and plans.
