Description

Description

"The ""Sustainable Rowing Event Management"" project aims to enhance the capacity of rowing event organisers and local clubs to integrate sustainability practices into their operations. The project brings together rowing federations, organising committees, and local rowing clubs from Lithuania and Czechia to develop a digital tool for sustainability strategy planning, implementation, and reporting. While technical aspects of rowing events are well established, social and environmental responsibility remains a relatively new and underdeveloped area. The project will address this gap by fostering cross-border cooperation, knowledge exchange, and capacity building among partner organisations. The project will utilise existing tools, such as the World Rowing Sustainability Checklist and the EU OCEAN project's carbon footprint measurement tools, to train sustainability officers and create standardised KPIs for measuring sustainability impact. The outcomes will contribute to making rowing events across Europe more environmentally and socially responsible. The final result will be a digital tool supporting event organisers in planning, tracking, and reporting on their sustainability strategies. The tool will be shared with rowing clubs and federations in partner countries and beyond, ensuring its long-term impact on the rowing community. The project will promote environmental sustainability, inclusion and diversity, and digital transformation in sports event management, aligning with the priorities of the Erasmus+ programme."
