Sustainable Rural Electrification Program in Panama

The overall objective of the program is to improve the quality of life of the rural population of Panama by increasing access to sustainable electricity services in rural areas through an efficient use of public resources in the subsector of rural electrification. The specific objectives are: i) promote public-private efforts to finance investment incentives in off the grid extension projects and isolated systems that allow the incorporation of rural populations without electrification, and ii) improve the capacity of the OER for formulation and implementation of rural electrification projects.
