Description

Description

The project envisages the development of a modern and efficient mobility system for local public transport in Trujillo in order to contribute to a more efficient and needs-based provision of passenger transport services and, in particular, to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. As part of a public-private partnership, the Peruvian Ministry of Transport and Communications will create the physical infrastructure for a bus rapid transit line (11.2 km) and three feeder lines (18.1 km) (BRT corridor), which will then be operated by the transport company of the city of Trujillo, Transportes Metropolitanos de Trujillo (TMT). A private concessionaire will procure a corresponding bus fleet and operate it on the BRT corridor. The total investment costs are estimated at EUR 154.7 million and are to be financed up to EUR 55.5 million from the FC loan.
