Description | This project “Sustainable waste management, environmental Pollution and CIrculArity: Linking education and business in Latin America and the Caribbean” (SPECIAL) is a CBHE action jointly organized by 11 organizations (partners) from 3 EU countries (Spain, Italy, Romania), 2 Latin American (LA)countries (México and Colombia) and 2 Caribbean (Car) countries (Cuba and Dominican Republic). SPECIAL focuses on the development of new capacities to be used by LA and the Car. High Education Institutions (HEI) in their near-future educational programmes in the field of Sustainable Waste Management (SWM). The overall objective of the project focuses on designing and producing a set of Micro-credentials and digital educational tools on Sustainable Waste Management (SWM) that will be introduced in LA and the Car. universities, updating their current academic offer at BSc and MSc levels, while ensuring that the needs of regulators and industries are fulfilled under the most recent and strict international standards. SPECIAL is developed through five specific objectives: (1) To create a Hub on Sustainable Waste Management in LA and the Car, integrating High Education Institutions (HEI), such as universities and research centres, together with regulators, private professionals, industries and stakeholders; (2) To jointly implement a set of Micro-credentials on Sustainable Waste management (SWM) for BSc and at MSc students of L A and the Caribbean universities, following the most recent and strict international standards; (3) To produce a set of didactic tools in digital format that can be integrated as support material in the SWM BSc and MSc ONLINE educational programs; (4) To integrate all the educational material inside a shared Online SWM Repository, (5) To develop a Pilot Future Learning Incubator with new educational techniques using a STEHEAM approach to promote and disseminate SW to the future 2030 university students. |
