Description | The Toronto Community Housing Corporation plans to demolish the existing Swansea Mews townhouse complex and build a new two-tower complex comprising 649 new homes, including 154 rent-geared-to-income units. The redevelopment will include increased accessibility, approximately 68,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenities such as meeting rooms, event spaces, play areas, a courtyard, and a community lawn, as well as 5,900 square feet of public space and 7,000 square feet for retail and other businesses. Funding is yet to be secured, and the project is under review by city staff with recommendations expected in early 2026. Construction is anticipated to take two to three years once approved. |
