Description

Description

The main scope of the project is to: 1) Decommission the Swastika Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP) - treatment processes in the WPCP would no longer to used. A decommissioning plan needs to be implemented for all equipment. 2) Add lift station in the Swastika WPCP - a portion of the existing Swastika WPCP would be turned into a lift station to pump sewage to the existing Swastika Lift Station located approximately 800 meters north of the WPCP, utilizing the existing underground forcemain. 3) Install approximately 5 kilometers of new underground forcemain connecting from the Swastika Lift Station to the existing Chaput Lift Station in the Town of Kirkland Lake - the Chaput Lift Station currently pumps sewage to the Kirkland Lake Wastewater Treatment Plant; hence, minimal work is required to be completed at the Chaput Lift Station. Two or three booster stations are likely required along the 5 kilometers of forcemain to maintain pressure along the forcemain.
