Description | Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) is launching the first phase of its grid enhancement project in Marshall, Texas. The project aims to improve power grid infrastructure by upgrading approximately 700 miles of power line infrastructure in Northeast Texas, enhancing reliability for more than 192,000 Texas customers. The upgrades include replacing copper wire with stronger aluminum-alloy conductors, installing new utility poles designed to withstand severe weather, strengthening the power distribution network, and supporting long-term reliability for homes, schools, hospitals, and businesses. The full project is expected to be completed by 2031. |
