Description | After Symbion Power LLC was already successfully contracted to supply 120MW of power though its Ubungo facility, Tanesco, the Tanzanian parastatel, contracted the US-based power firm for another 60MW temporary rental facility of 60MW to be constructed in Dodoma. The Symbion Rental Ubungo Power Plant was to add 60MW to the Tanzanian national grid in November. Construction had already started while a power-purchasing agreement with the government was negotiated. The fast-track project, completed in a mere four weeks, was to provide power to the Dodoma capital region, and in November 2011 the facility was connected to the grid. |
