SZEGED (SZŐREG) - NOVI KNEZEVAC BICYCLE ROAD CONSTRUCTION (phase 3)

The closest town to Szeged in Serbia is Novi Knezevac hardly over than 25 kilometers far from each other. There are two smaller villages on both sides: Újszentiván, Tiszasziget, Dala and Sprski Krstur. The efforts for integration of small regions made impetus to the need for the development of the infrastructure significantly improving the links between the townships and for the construction of the bike road. There are no Community traffic roads across the border, thus the main mean of transport is the bike. That is the reason that the bike road built in the proper length is missed. Despite of this no bike road was built. In the present phase a dual usage road is to be built in Újszentiván and a two lane bike raoad connects Dala and Krstur. The complete budget of the project is 1.054.083 EUR within which all partners' share exceed the 10% limit. The project may be financed from EU support of 895.971 EUR (85%), of support ensured by the Hungarian government of 83.910 EUR (7,96%) and of own resources of 74.201 EUR (7,04%). With the project bike road and dual usage road will be built in total length of 4.265 m with the surface of 13.909 m2. This corresponds to a standard 1m wide bike lane with almost 14 km length. The project is adjusted to both the national and the Union strategies and to the horizontal objectives ensuring equal opportunities and the sustainable development. The project partners carry out the supervision and the management of the realization in a joint organization. Public procurement takes place according to PraG rules.
