SZEGED (SZŐREG) - NOVI KNEZEVAC BICYCLE ROAD CONSTRUCTION (phase 4)

Local Government of Újszentiván has developed in 3 phases of the bicycle path network in the administrative area. As the closest town to Szeged in Serbia is Novi Knezevac, the bicyle path construction between Szeged and Novi Knezevac was a common goa l in partnership with Szeged, Tiszasziget and Novi Knezevac, entrusted to Újszentiván. Thanks to the three previous successfully implemented projects most of the bicycle road section is complete. Taking into account that the bicycle road utilization surpassed the intended use, our priority is the construction of the missing phase in Serbia, and a touristic linking section. This investment is the fourth phase of the Szeged – Novi Knezevac bicycle road construction, which ensure safe biking acr oss the border. Through the project bike road will be built in total length of 10182,23 m in Serbian side. Based on people needs a bike resting place and cycling training court for pupils will be construct. Local Government of Újszentiván has "Cyclin g settlement" and "Cycling job" titles for several years, and USZTILOGO won Road Safety Award in 2016 in township class from the Ministry of National Development. Based on this USZTILOGO will organize an event in connection with safety biking. Thanks to the previous three implemented Hungary-Serbia CBC project, both of the beneficiaries have sufficient experience, and they determined to finish the 4th phase of Szeged– Novi Knezevac bicycle road construction. The project is adjusted to both the n ational and the Union strategies and to the horizontal objectives ensuring equal opportunities and the sustainable development.
