Tacheng City Wastewater Treatment Plant

In January 2014, a local private company Beijing Sound Group signed an agreement with the Tacheng Municipal Government to expand and operate a wastewater treatment plant in Tacheng City, Xinjiang and meanwhile manage the existing facility. The capacity of the existing facility was 20,000 tons per day and Sound would expand it to 40,000 tons per day. Tthe total investment was RMB 80 million. Beijing Sound had a 100% stake in the project and would operate the plant for 30 years. How the agreement was granted, on competitive or direct negotiation basis, was not reported. In July 2014, the existing wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 20,000 tons per day was transferred to Beijing Sound for management.
