Major tech companies including Google, Tract, Switch, EdgeCore, Novva, Vantage, PowerHouse, Microsoft, Apple, and OpenAI are operating, building, or expanding huge data center facilities in this business park, which is larger than the city of Detroit. The expansion involves significant construction activity, with 13 million square feet under construction, and plans for nearly six gigawatts of electricity capacity over the next decade. The project raises concerns about water consumption and environmental impacts in Nevada, the driest state in the US. |
