Description

The Tahoe Reno Industrial Center in Northern Nevada is undergoing a massive data center boom with companies like Google, Microsoft, Apple, Switch, EdgeCore, Novva, Vantage, and PowerHouse operating, building, or expanding huge data center facilities. The industrial park is larger than the city of Detroit and has 13 million square feet under construction, with a dozen data-center projects requesting nearly six gigawatts of electricity capacity within the next decade. The expansion includes new water infrastructure such as a 16-mile pipeline to supply treated effluent water to the data centers, aiming to preserve groundwater resources.
