The project entails the construction of 158.7 MW Wind Power Plant in Taiba N'Diaye, Senegal. Sponsors of the project are Actis (60 %) that provides $ 54 million in equity and Mainstream Renewable Power (40%) that provides additional $ 36 million in equity. Debt is secured by OPIC ($ 250 million) and EKF Denmark provided an export loan in amount of $ 163.6 million. MIGA provided the project with a political risk insurance. Danish company Vestas will install 46, 3.45 MW wind turbines for the facility. The sponsor has signed a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with state utility Senelec. MIGA guarantees are issued for up to 20 years against the risks of transfer restriction, expropriation, war and civil disturbance, and breach of contract. Construction of the plan started on December 6. 2018.
