New World Infrastructure, through its subsidiary Economic velocity Ltd., entered into a joint-venture agreement with Shanxi Province to build and operate the toll highway connecting Wang Li Bao and Bei Zhai in Changzhi city. The contract period is 25 years from the commencement of the operations. The 18.3-km toll road demanded US$16.9 million, 65% financed with loans and 35% with equity. NWI held the 60% of the stake in the project company, Shanxi Xinda Highways Ltd., while the state-owned company, Changzhi City Changda Highway Development Co. held the rest of the stake.The dual two-lane highway had 2 toll collection booths. The expected traffic flow was 4,000 vehicles per day (expected saturation capacity is 10,000 vehicles daily). The toll road became operational in August 2000. None None
