Description | The project includes the procurement of building and medical equipment as part of an expansion of the Taiyuan Municipal Peoples Hospital at a second location in the new development zone in the southwest of the city of Taiyuan (approx. 4.2 million inhabitants), the capital of the northern Chinese province of Shanxi. The Class 2A public general hospital specializes in neurology, cardiovascular diseases and general surgery. The project is intended to more than double the number of beds in the hospital from the current 400 to 1,100. After completion of the project, up to 23,000 inpatients and up to 400,000 outpatients are to be treated annually. The total cost of the project is EUR 117.2 million. EUR 28 million of this is to be financed through an FC subsidy loan, with the majority (EUR 23.6 million) to be used to procure medical equipment. The remaining EUR 4.4 million will be used to purchase supply systems such as elevators, central air conditioning systems, air purification systems for operating rooms and parts of the ward equipment. The financing is ODA-eligible due to the grant element according to the DAC method of 48.93%. |
