TAKE CARE explores caregiving as a fundamental act of human interdependence, focusing on its embodied, social, political, and emotional dimensions. The project brings together artists, caregivers, and researchers to co-create new artistic expressions rooted in caregiving practices. In the context of Europe's demographic shift and growing healthcare inequalities, TAKE CARE addresses urgent issues such as aging, the privatization of care, the burden on informal caregivers (often women or migrants), and the need to rethink care as a cultural, ethical, and creative practice. Art can transform caregiving into a shared language of gestures and attentiveness. Objectives Center the lived experiences of caregivers, both professional and informal, as sources of knowledge, dignity, and creative inspiration. Recognize and amplify the invisible labor of care through artistic practices. Create spaces where caregivers, care receivers, artists, and citizens can share stories, gestures, and experiences, fostering mutual understanding and solidarity. Archive and celebrate care as a collective, relational, and embodied practice through a shared vocabulary of gestures and narratives. Foster interdisciplinary dialogue between arts, healthcare, and technology to imagine more humane, empathetic futures for care. Bring care practices into public and communal spaces, making them visible, valued, and shared through participatory performances and events. Activities Creative residencies involving artists and caregivers. Public events and workshops in hospitals, nursing homes, and cultural venues. Research collaborations with universities and care institutions. Development of an open-access digital archive. Impact TAKE CARE amplifies the voices of caregivers, fosters intergenerational and intercultural dialogue, contributes to AI ethics in healthcare, and reimagines care as a collective and artistic responsibility. It proposes a replicable model for embedding care in cultural practices.
