The company pursuing the project is Talon Metals, which acquired the Eagle Mine in Michigan's Upper Peninsula in late 2025. The project has raised concerns about its proximity to water-rich environments and potential impacts on cultural sites, wild rice beds, fisheries, and water downstream on the Mississippi River. |
