Description | The Tamil Nadu Urban Development Project will strengthen the functioning of urban institutions involved with the delivery of services and the implementation of urban investments. The project will improve housing and increase the efficiency of the urban transportation system. The project includes the following components: (a) Institutional -- which will provide for a new Municipal Development Fund, technical assistance, training and related equipment; (b) Shelter -- which will involve the purchase, development and construction of low-income housing and improved infrastructure; and (c) Traffic Management and Transport -- which will provide construction and improvement of the transportation system, facilities and services. |
