Tampa Bay Rays New Stadium and Redevelopment Project

planned

The Tampa Bay Rays and local government officials announced a tentative agreement for a proposed $2.3 billion stadium and redevelopment project in Tampa. The project includes a new Major League Baseball stadium near Hillsborough Community College’s Dale Mabry campus, along with surrounding retail, residential, entertainment, and public space developments. The Rays ownership group would contribute approximately $1.235 billion toward construction costs, with local governments providing about $967 million through public funding and other support. The project requires approval from Tampa City Council and Hillsborough County Commission, with hopes to complete the stadium by the 2029 MLB season.
