Description | The project aims at providing a centrally controlled electrical network for the three rural towns of Newala, Masasi and Nachingwea and also power for pumping water to serve more than 200,000 people of the Makonde Plateau. The project would provide motive power for processing cashew nuts and other foreign exchange earning agro-industries and would also serve to build up electr cal load so that the proposed extentsion of the hydro-based national grid to these remote areas may become economically and financially justifiable. |
