Tanzania - The Third Poverty Reduction Support Programme (PRSL III)

The Poverty Reduction Support Loan III (PRSL III) is designed to support the Government of Tanzania to implement its Poverty Reduction Strategy. The strategy anchores on three complementary pillars—growth and reduction of income poverty; improved quality of life and well-being; and governance and accountability. The project aims at providing the government with direct budget support in the implementation of its poverty reduction strategy. It has four major components: Enhancement of revenue mobilization; Strengthening procurement practices; Strengthening audit functions; and improving governance structures and accountability systems in the road sub-sector. The total cost of the project is UA 465.20 million.
