Tanzania Nuclear Power Program Preparation

planned

Tanzania is preparing for future nuclear power development by strengthening its atomic research and radiation regulation agencies and integrating nuclear science into its national long-term strategic framework. The government emphasizes the necessity of long-term energy planning to support industrialisation and energy independence. However, Tanzania has not announced plans to construct commercial nuclear reactors yet and prioritizes expanding the national power grid and strengthening existing energy supply reliability.
