Description

Description

The Tenth Poverty Reduction Support Credit (PRSC-10) to the United Republic of Tanzania will be the second in a series of three annual programmatic development policy operations (DPOs) in support of Tanzania's implementation of its poverty reduction strategy, Second Mkakati wa Kukuza Uchumi na Kupunguza Umasikini Tanzania (MKUKUTA II), complemented by the Five Year Development Plan I (FYDP I) as an operational tool. The series continues with its robust emphasis on the public finance pillar. The Government has reaffirmed its willingness to implement key reforms in the areas of fiscal policy and management, notably in terms of new fiscal revenues from natural gas that will require a greater attention to Public Investment Management (PIM) and transparency. The series has a cross-cutting emphasis on improved transparency and access to information. This focus is addressed through enhanced budget transparency, including timely publication of budgets, as well as wider public disclosure of data and statistics generated by the government.
