TAPI Gas Pipeline Construction in Afghanistan

Construction work on the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline is actively underway in Afghanistan. The 214-kilometer Turkmen section is fully completed, and construction of the 153-kilometer Serhetabat-Herat section in Afghanistan is proceeding rapidly. This stage is strategically important for the project's advancement and strengthening bilateral economic ties. Construction began on September 11, 2024, involving hundreds of Turkmen engineers and workers. Over 100 kilometers of the Afghan section have been handed over to contractors. Various materials and equipment are being supplied, and significant progress has been made in welding, trenching, pipe laying, and leveling the pipeline route.
