Description | The Taraporewala Aquarium in South Mumbai, closed since the Covid-19 pandemic and declared structurally unsafe in 2022, is planned for complete redevelopment into a world-class marine attraction. The project includes around 38,000 varieties of fish, immersive visitor experiences including scuba diving, and a striking architectural design overlooking the coastline. The project involves a total investment of Rs 900 crore, with Rs 400 crore from the Maharashtra government and Rs 500 crore from a private contractor. The bhoomipujan is expected by October 2026. |
