Provision of a sovereign-guaranteed loan of up to KZT 41.3 billion (equivalent EUR 76.2 million) (the “Loan”) for the benefit of the State Communal Enterprise (SCE) "Zhambyl Su" (the “Company”), a municipal company owned by Akimat of Taraz City providing water supply and sewage services in Taraz City (the “City”), for major modernisation of the wastewater treatment plant (“WWTP”) and associated infrastructure (the “Project”). The Loan will be used to finance the Project’s Priority Investment Programme (the “PIP”) that involves construction of a new WWTP with the capacity of 80,000 m3/day (over 300,000 population equivalent (P.E.)) to meet both national and EU requirements for urban wastewater treatment and sewage sludge. The wider project scope also includes remediation of the existing filtration lagoons, reconstruction of the wastewater pumping station and external electricity supply to the WWTP that will be financed from the local budget through a government funding. Once implemented, the Project will also lead to reducing local pollution and odour. The following documents are available in English, Kazakh and Russian for this project: 1.
