Description

Description

The project involves the development of a new international airport in the Tashkent region through a public-private partnership (PPP) between the Government of Uzbekistan and an international consortium led by Vision Invest, Sojitz Corporation, Incheon International Airport Corporation, and Uzbekistan Airports. The project includes the construction of two 4-kilometer runways, a modern passenger terminal covering approximately 208,000 square meters, 98 aircraft parking stands, air traffic control facilities, fuel infrastructure, and other supporting airport systems. The airport is being developed on a 1,310-hectare site and is designed to handle an initial capacity of around 20 million passengers annually, with future expansion potential. Under the agreement, the private consortium will finance, build, and operate the passenger terminal and related commercial facilities, while the government will retain responsibility for the airfield infrastructure. Once completed, the consortium will manage and operate the airport for a concession period of about 35 years, helping transform Tashkent into a major regional aviation and logistics hub.
