Description | The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved investment of Rs 8,146.21 crore for the construction of Tato-II Hydro Electric Project (HEP) in Shi Yomi District, Arunachal Pradesh. The project has an installed capacity of 700 MW (4 x 175 MW) and is expected to produce 2738.06 MU of energy. It will improve power supply in Arunachal Pradesh and help balance the National Grid. The project will be implemented through a joint venture between North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Ltd. (NEEPCO) and the government of Arunachal Pradesh. The Centre will provide budgetary support for infrastructure including roads, bridges, and transmission lines, and the state will receive free power and local area development funds. The project also includes development of local infrastructure such as hospitals, schools, and marketplaces. |
