Description | In December 2004, PT Pusaka Jaya Palu Power (PJPP) started the construction of 30-MW Mpanau coal-fired power plant in Desa Mpanau, North Palu. The plant is powered by 2 units of 15 MW generator. Shandong Machinary I&E Group Corporation (SDMIEC) and PT. Adhi Karya Indonesia were responsible for the construction. The cost is estimated to be at Rp. 311 Milyar or about US$ 32 million (using the average of exchange rate of Rp. 9705 per 1 U.S. dollar in 2005). PJPP has a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the state-owned electricity company (PT PLN) to buy the produced electricity at the rate of 4.94 cent US/KWh (levellized price) for a period of 30 years. PJPP is a joint venture of PT Toba Sejahtera, PJPP, and Palu Municipality. In November 2006, the power plant became operational. |
