Located at 759 Warden Avenue in Scarborough, Ontario, the Toronto Business Development Centre (TBDC) will construct a state-of-the-art Skills Training Centre (STC) facility with high standards for inclusion and accessibility. This net-zero multi-use hub will address the need for experiential training programs, employability skills development, and access to job opportunities. The STC will feature an industrial workshop, multi-purpose spaces and classrooms, providing hands on and in-class training for meaningful workforce development. Situated conveniently near the redevelopment of the Golden Mile in Scarborough, the multi-use hub, will bring together employers, social service agencies, educational institutions and training providers and benefit underrepresented neighborhoods in Scarborough. Through collaboration with equity-deserving groups, non-profit and community organizations, the STC will serve as an open community hub for job seekers, offering innovative and accessible programming, tailored to support Scarborough’s underserved populations and foster stronger partnerships and inclusive economic growth. By offering accessible training opportunities, the STC aims to ensure that local residents can benefit from the area’s transformation.
