The house is sited among dunes and native Pohutukawa trees, featuring a low-slung concrete exterior that blends with the landscape. It includes a curving roof structure called 'the surfboard' that channels water efficiently and shapes light entry. The design incorporates kinetic elements like operable shutters and sliding walls to adapt to the coastal environment, connecting interior and exterior spaces through a central courtyard and open-plan living areas.
