Teaching module Doing Business in European Union

The DBEU is an integrative, multidisciplinary and practical teaching module to be embedded in the official curriculum of Riga Stradins University. The syllabus of the teaching module includes 92 academic teaching hours (lectures and seminars) and 6 open-to-public workshops with guest lectures each academic year. The teaching module will be delivered in Latvian to the 2nd year bachelor students of the Department of International Business and Economics in a term of two semesters in a hybrid model (zoom sessions or auditorium+zoom sessions depending on Covid 19 pandemic prevention restrictions). It is estimated that around 150 students will benefit from the during 3 academic years. In relevance with EU Action Plan “Financing Sustainable Growth”, The European Green Deal and EU’s Post-COVID-19 Recovery Plan the DBEU project will spread knowledge about the transformation of EU business environment (on macro and micro levels), including financial, legal, and strategic aspects for sustainable business in the EU to such target groups as students, academia, PhD students involved in teaching, entrepreneurs, policy makers and state servants. The DBEU project objectives include a delivery of an integrative, multidisciplinary and practical teaching module on doing business in EU with its main goal to equip the graduates with up-to-date knowledge on the EU business environment on macro and micro levels and respective entrepreneurial skills with emphasis on aspect of recovery, resilience tnd digitalization of EU economy, thus executing relevance with European Union studies. Moreover, the DBEU will promote first teaching experience of young scholars (PhD students) in the field of European Union studies. To outreach audiences outside the academia and students the DBEU incorporates such activities as round table debate and open-to-public workshops broadcasted via social accounts of RSU.
