The THE! Project aims at the realization of euregional, multidisciplinary options that students, from participating schools, can participate in. Subject and cross-border capacities are learned with focus on technology in care and better alignment between education and the labor market. Goals: Setting up a cross-border options within the current courses of secondary schools and university colleges. Focus on: multidisciplinarity, Technological Care Innovations, euregional Mobility, preparing the streamlining of students from secondary to higher education for the euregional Labor Market. Students from the different departments of the different schools can enroll in the options. THE! will launch an open call for the delivery of specific cases that will meet specific criteria such as innovation, user centered design, multidisciplinary feasibility and impact (see WP4 & 5). In addition, we will compare the cases on the horizontal principles. The call will be launched via the dissemination routes of THE! and will be directed (WP2) to companies and health care institutions in the euregio. The submitted cases will be evaluated by a workgroup (WP4 & 5), if necessary experts will join the workgroup. The workgroup take following properties into account: accountability, feasibility, regional balance, euregional added value and multidisciplinarity. Output: By school year (2), we provide a total of 15 cases, distributed across the schools. Per case we provide at least 8 students and a teacher for support. Around 150 people connected to the participating schools will be involved in the project every year. From the participating companies or healthcare institutions, 45 people per year will be involved. In total, we provide an involvement of approximately 400 people. Results: This approach results in the added value of research-based education that will improve the quality of education of the relevant courses and will be in line with the field of work. Teachers will professionalize within this euregional context. The innovation power of the graduating student and of the euregio will increase with a positive impact on the regions competitive position. Continuing this approach after the project period is the absolute goal. This will be achieved through clear alignment between euregional education institutions. For this purpose, a quality manual / syllabus is being developed during the first phase of the project with the aim of matching the curricula of the schools. Through mid-term evaluations, the approach and operation will be constantly evaluated and edited. The schools (Ausbildungsberufen/secondary education) will also be involved in the development.
