Description | The project consists in upgrading the radio system and video camera system on buses, as both of the current systems are using outdated technology. The upgrade includes a new VoIP radio system to replace the current open radio system and a new camera system that has better coverage and can be viewed in real-time. Specifically, the scope of the project includes upgrading the cameras on 89 vehicles and upgrading the radio systems at 119 locations, including those 89 vehicles. The additional 30 radios will be used in areas such as maintenance and transportation offices, terminal hubs and supervisor, maintenance and shuttle vehicles. By investing in new systems, the municipality aims to improve the safety of their transit system as well as provide operational improvements. The project will improve the quality and safety of existing and future system in the Regional Municipality of Niagara. |
