Description | The project consists of the installation of new and extension of existing automatic exchanges; extension of networks in the major cities; addition of toll lines and carrier telephone equipment between main centers of population and extension of telegraph, telex and radio services. A new central automatic exchange with a capacity of 10,000 automatic numbers will be installed in Addis Ababa. The installation of new automatic exchanges at Dessie, Nazareth, Massawa, Harrar, Assab and Jimma and the extension of the existing plant at Asmara will add another 3,200 lines, making a total of 13,200 lines of new automatic exchange equipment. |
