Description | The Telephone Road Overhaul Project involves revamping the section of Telephone Road between Lockwood Drive and Lawndale Street in East Houston. The project aims to enhance drainage, improve roadway surfaces, and improve overall travel safety and comfort while adhering to the City of Houston's guiding mobility principles. The redesign includes maintaining four lanes without a center turn lane and removing previously planned bike lanes and traffic-calming measures. The project is funded by $12 million from bonds approved by the Houston City Council and is expected to add nearly half a million dollars to the cost due to design updates. |
