Information Department of water resources-MH - II has come up with Tembhu Lift Irrigation Project with a ticket size of 2993.5 INR Crores. This project in Irrigation sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Completion Certificate/COD and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project This Project was included under ?Special Package of Central Assistance to complete 83 Surface Minor Irrigation [SMI] projects and 8 major/Medium Irrigation Projects? in suicide prone districts in Vidarbha and Marathwada and rest of Maharashtra region of the state of Maharashtra in July 2018. The Central Assistance provided is 25percentage reimbursement of expenditure incurred on works component by Government of Maharastra. The Tembhu Lift Irrigation Project envisages the construction of 285 m long and 16 m high barrage across river Krishna in Satara District and lifting water in five stages to provide irrigation facilities to utilize 22.13 TMC water through canals having total length 427.60 for irrigation in drought prone areas of Karad, Kadegaon, Khanapur, Tasgaon, Atpadi, Kavathemahankal and Sangola Talukas of Satara, Sangli and Solapur districts in Maharashtra. The irrigation water requirement for the project has been proposed from the Krishna river [run off], Koyna dam, Wang project and Tarali dam project. The project envisages construction of the following main components- I. Construction of 285 m long and 16 m high barrage across river Krishna near village Tembhu. II. Construction of Pump house complexes near Tembhu [Stage IA, IB],Nhavi Tank [Stage II], Mahuli [Stage IIIA, IIIB], Vejegaon [Stage IV], Bhud [Stage V], Visapur LIS and Punadi LIS III. Construction of 393 Km long canals and Distribution Network. During inclusion of Project under Special Package in 2018 Balance Cost of the project [works] as on 01/04/2018 was Rs 1088.62 crore Eligible Central Assistance was Rs 272.155 crore CA released till October 2021- Rs 239.295 crore Physical progress- 81.23 percentage Financial Progress- 86.59 percentage Ultimate Irrigation Potential is 111856 Ha Irrigation Potential created till October 2021- 60537 Ha Projected Date of Completion- March 2022
