Description

Description

The Sponsor i.e. Dawood Group (“DG”), has obtained Letter of Interest (“LOI”) from Alternate Energy Development Board (“AEDB”) under the RE Policy to develop a 50MW wind power project. The LOI was awarded in the name of Tenaga Generasi Limited (“TGL”), who has already been awarded a license by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA). TGL intends to develop a 50 MW wind farm on total rented area of over 19.75 km2 , located about 30 km southwest of Gharo town, Thatta District of Sindh Region. The project involves engineering, design, procurement, construction, turbine erection, grid tie-in, commissioning, and operations management over the 20 year concession period. The project site and land identified and allocated by Alternative Energy Department Board (AEDB), a central government agency, is close to the national grid. The total Project cost is approximately US$130 million. As the developer, TGL will contract with CMEC EPC contractors for construction and O&M contractor GE for operations and maintenance services. The National Transmission and Distribution Company (NTDC) will be in charge of T-line construction and operations; the T-line will be designed and constructed by giving due consideration to Sindh EPA’s environmental specifications and timeline to be able to off-take power from other wind projects in the area that are planned for development in future.
