Description
Description | Vienna-based Renalfa IPP has commissioned the first 69 MW of its 238-MW Tenevo solar park in southeastern Bulgaria, along with all grid connection facilities to the country’s 400-kV transmission network. The project includes a solar park supported by a 315-MW/760-MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). The second part of the solar site is scheduled to go live in early 2026, with ongoing construction of the batteries. Once fully operational, the plant will produce over 300 GWh of clean electricity annually, eliminating 250,000 tonnes of carbon emissions per year. The project is supported by EUR 103 million (USD 109.7 million) from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Raiffeisen Bank International. Tenevo Solar Technology is a joint venture between Eurowind Energy and Renalfa IPP, which itself is a joint venture of Renalfa Solarpro Group and RGreen Invest. |
