Tennessee Theatre Expansion at 612 S. Gay Street

under construction

The Tennessee Theatre is undergoing a major expansion by renovating the Mechanics' Bank Building at 612 S. Gay Street in downtown Knoxville. The expansion adds about 30,000 square feet of space including bars, bathrooms, rehearsal spaces, administrative offices, and a private donor lounge. The new space will enhance the guest experience and allow for more community programming. The expansion connects to the original theater with a new staircase and corridor and is designed to complement the historic theater with modern design elements inspired by the original.
